• A minimum of 12 characters
• A combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
• Not a dictionary word or the name of a person, character, product, or organization
• Significantly different from passwords used in your other online accounts, such as email
• Easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess
• Not a common word and patterns like “abcdef”, “123456”, “password”

To maintain the security of your account, follow these best practices:

• Under no circumstances should you share your password, not even with friends or family members
• Avoid sending passwords via email, instant messaging, or any insecure means of communication
• Use a unique password for each website. This prevents malicious actors from exploiting your credentials on other platforms in the event of a security breach
• If you choose to write down your passwords, ensure they are stored securely. Avoid using sticky notes or keeping them close to the protected item
• Change passwords immediately on accounts you suspect may have been compromised
• Whenever possible, enable multifactor authentication, which adds an extra layer of security by requiring multiple credentials, such as a password and a one-time code generated by an app
