Arkefi is fully compatible with MetaMask, a software wallet specifically designed to enhance user interaction with multiple blockchains and its decentralized applications (dApps). Learn more about MetaMask and its features.

If you already possess a MetaMask wallet, feel free to proceed to the next step and skip this one.

MetaMask is available as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave, as well as a mobile application for iOS or Android devices.

Browser Extension

Step 1: Add MetaMask to Chrome
  1. Navigate to the Chrome Web Store
  2. Use the search bar to find MetaMask, then click on “Add to Chrome”
  3. In the pop-up window, click on “Add extension” to install the MetaMask extension
Step 2: Set Up a MetaMask Wallet
  1. After installation, click on the MetaMask icon (fox head) in your browser’s extension toolbar
  2. Read and agree to MetaMask’s Terms of Use
  3. You’ll now have two options: “Create a new wallet” or “Import an existing wallet”. Choose “Create a new wallet” if this is your first time using MetaMask
  4. You’ll be asked if you want to help improve MetaMask. Select “I agree” to send usage data to MetaMask or “No thanks” if you prefer not to
  5. Create a strong password for your wallet. Remember, MetaMask doesn’t store your password. If you lose it, you can’t recover it
Step 3: Secure and Confirm Recovery Phrase
  1. MetaMask will generate a secret recovery phrase. This phrase can be used to recover your wallet, so it’s important to keep it safe
  2. Click on “Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase” and write down the 12 words on a piece of paper
  3. MetaMask will ask you to confirm your Secret Recovery Phrase to ensure you have it correct
Step 4: Switch to the Avalanche Network

Arkefi operates on the Avalanche blockchain, conducting all transactions on the Avalanche Network C-Chain.

  1. Click on the MetaMask icon (fox head) in your browser’s extension toolbar
  2. Tap the network selector at the top of the screen
  3. Click on “Add Network” to add a new network
  4. A new window will open, showing a list of popular networks. From that list, click on “Add” next to the Avalanche Network C-Chain
  5. When prompted, click on “Approve” to add the Avalanche network
  6. Click on “Switch to Avalanche Network C-Chain” to switch to the Avalanche network
  7. Your MetaMask wallet is set up and ready to use
Step 1: Add MetaMask to Firefox
  1. Navigate to the Mozilla Firefox Add-ons store 
  2. Use the search bar to find MetaMask, then click on “Add to Firefox”
  3. In the pop-up window, click on “Add” to install the MetaMask extension

Mobile App

Step 1: Download the MetaMask App

  1. When the MetaMask app opens, you’ll see the MetaMask welcome screen. Click on “Get started”
  2. You’ll now have two options: “Import using Secret Recovery Phrase” or “Create a new wallet”. Choose “Create a new wallet” if this is your first time using MetaMask
